First Steps to Troubleshoot GrownBy

First Steps to Troubleshoot GrownBy

When encountering issues with GrownBy, performing some basic web troubleshooting steps can often resolve the problem. Five essential actions to consider are:

  1. Use GrownBy in only one tab or window at a time.

  2. Reloading the page with a hard refresh and clearing the browser cache. A hard refresh (vs. just clicking refresh) reloads the page's content directly from the server, bypassing the cached data stored in your browser.

  3. Clearing the entire browser cache removes stored temporary files that might cause conflicts with loading or functionality of GrownBy.

  4. Updating the GrownBy App or setting your app to auto-update.

  5. Turning your device off and on.

Below are the steps to execute a hard refresh, as well as links to help articles explaining cache clearance for all major internet browsers, and app updating for iOS and Android.

Hard Refresh

A hard refresh forces the web browser to reload the page's content from the server, ignoring any cached data. This can help resolve display or functional issues caused by outdated cached files.

To perform a hard refresh:

  • Windows: Hold Down Shift + Left Click Refresh OR Press Ctrl + F5

  • Mac: Hold Down Shift + Left Click Refresh OR Press Command + Shift + R
