Changing your plan

You can change your GrownBy plan at any time: switch to a different plan, move between monthly and annual billing, downgrade to a lower tier, or switch to GrownBy Free if you no longer want a paid plan.

  1. In your dashboard, go to Account Settings.
  2. Open the Membership & Plan tab.
  3. Next to your subscription, click Change Plan.
  1. Find the plan you want and click Select and continue. Your current plan is labeled so you can tell them apart.

To change your billing frequency (monthly to annual or vice versa) without switching plans, click Change Payment Plan on your current plan instead. If you want to change both your plan and your billing cycle, change the plan first, then come back to this screen and change the billing cycle.

Save with annual billing and membership

Every paid plan has both a monthly and an annual price. Paying annually costs about 10% less than paying monthly for the whole year.

Co-op members receive an additional 10% off all plans and add-ons, and that discount stacks on top of annual pricing. Membership is a one-time charge, not a recurring subscription.

Downgrading or canceling your plan

To move to a lower-cost plan, choose it on the plan selection screen and click Select and continue. If you don't want a paid plan anymore, choose GrownBy Free.

Downgrades and cancellations are fully self-service, you don't need to contact us. The change is scheduled for the end of your current billing period, and you keep full access to everything you're paying for until then. GrownBy shows you the exact date the change takes effect.

What happens to your CSAs and custom shares

Downgrading or moving to GrownBy Free never deletes anything. Your existing members keep their orders and subscriptions (nothing is cancelled) and if you upgrade again later, everything is right where you left it.

Once the change takes effect at the end of the billing period:

  • Features that aren't part of your new plan turn off. New shoppers won't see your shares in your shop, though existing members with a direct or renewal link can still order.
  • Your shares become read-only — you won't be able to edit them.
  • If you drop the Custom CSA plan, your custom shares effectively pause: the share's detail page locks, no new order windows open, and customers are no longer prompted to customize. Re-upgrading immediately restores full access to the same shares.

Billing and proration

When you upgrade or add features partway through a billing cycle, the change is immediate and the difference is prorated and billed right away.

Downgrades and cancellations are not prorated or refunded. You keep access to the plan features you've already paid for until your next renewal date, when the change takes effect.
