Version 3.5 is here
Welcome to 3.5! We included many new features and bug fixes in this release, and more articles will be made available to dig into those features.
Here is a summary of what changes you can expect to see:
Farm Shop
Our goal with this release was to provide a more branded Farm Shop to highlight more of the beautiful photos on GrownBy, and make things run faster for customers. The farm shop includes a number of changes:
- Shop headers are redesigned and can support 1, 2 or 3 photos from each farm
- The farm location filter is now located on the left sidebar
- Categories and CSA groups are shown on the left sidebar. When clicking into categories under "Products", the page filters to only those products
- The shop will load faster in most cases
In 3.5, we added a new feature to provide real-time tracking of pick-ups and deliveries. You can see if customers have received their orders, and pickups will hopefully run more smoothly with this app-based feature enabled.
- From the dashboard or the Distributions tab under "Sign-in", the farmer can launch a sign-in session
- After specifying a location and date, a list of customers will be available and products that they are receiving
- After a customer receives their order, they are shifted into the "received" group
- Products can be marked received; missed; donated. Orders that are on vacation or cancelled will also be visible
- Notes can be sent to the farmer after a distribution
- The farmer will receive a notification after the sign-in session is ended
- Sign-in sessions can be re-opened or edited at anytime
- The results of the sign-in session are captured on the Distributions - Sign-in tab; on .csv exports from that tab; and on customer pages.
- Farmers that continue to use PDF sign-in sheets will still be supported
The farmer can now specify certain roles for the Farm Team. The roles include: Admin; Distributor; Accountant.
Farmers can remove members of their Farm Team
The user who initiated the farm account is considered the Owner. This cannot be edited.
Each role has a unique set of privileges and a unique dashboard.
- Farmers can now offer partial refunds. This is available from the Invoices tab.
Order deadlines, policies, and changes
We added text in various places throughout the app to make ordering and change deadlines clearer to shoppers.
- Cancellation policy is included on standard product detail pages
- CSAs include "options" and include vacation weeks and location changes
- Orders tab under pickups includes the cancellation and change deadline for each pickup, if options exist.
Farmer Dashboard
- The farm Dashboard now includes "Upcoming Distributions" and a link to start a Sign-in session
- The administrative panel has updated icons
CSA Location, Date Change blocks
On the CSA Group page, farmers can turn off location switching or location and date switching
Notes to New CSA Customers
On the CSA group page, farmers can customize a note to all new orders on a given CSA. These notes are sent in the order confirmation email from GrownBy.
Customer Messages, Detail page
- Messages to customers now only cc's the admin who sent the message
- Customer detail page is cleaned up with new subheadings and organization
Cart Minimums
- Cart minimums no longer apply when a share is in the cart
Product Subpages
Templates have a subpage under Products and are editable from this page
Categories have a subpage under Products and are editable from this page. Company default categories are not editable.
Producers have a subpage under Products and are editable.
EBT Security
- When customers have exceeded a certain number of pin attempts, they will be blocked from GrownBy
- When a customer has changed their card too many times, they will be blocked from GrownBy
